Does video made with AI work for a brand?
Atualizado em 22 de julho de 2026
It works, and our own project is the most direct proof: Cinema Impossível, an AI-produced video project by desigual, has over 92 million views. But the honest answer has two halves. AI shines at concept and scale; real camera footage still wins where the sale depends on trust in what's real.
Where AI shines in video
AI delivers what filming can't reach or can't afford. Impossible scenes, sets that don't exist, multiple versions of the same concept at volume, all of it born on our own infrastructure: ours is an RTX 4090 running ComfyUI and Flux. The marginal cost of each new version drops, so you can test concept, visual script and format without a reshoot. For a brand, that opens two doors. The first is creative: a campaign that would be physically unfeasible becomes feasible. The second is operational: the same concept comes out in cuts for feed, stories and ads without multiplying production day rates.
Where real footage still wins
No model generates the credibility of a real person talking about their own experience. Customer testimonials, a product working, a team at work, behind-the-scenes at a construction site or a factory: these videos sell because they prove something. When the buyer needs to believe in what they're going to receive, a camera in the real world is irreplaceable. There's also an ethical and platform-level limit: an ad with generated imagery has labeling rules, and simulating a real person saying something they never said is off the table. We detail this in can you use AI imagery in an ad.
How to decide between AI, real footage or both
Ask what the video needs to prove. If the answer is an idea, a concept, a world, AI is the cheaper and more creative path. If the answer is trust, product, people, film it with a camera. And the hybrid is usually the best of both: a real asset as the base, AI expanding the setting, versions and finish, always with human direction so it doesn't fall into the generic. That's the thesis we defend in AI content without the AI look. What we don't promise is reach: 92 million views is the result of one specific project, not a guarantee of replication.
In practice, in the countryside
In the Northwest of São Paulo state, what works best is the mix. A developer films the construction site and testimonials with a real camera, and uses AI to create versions, build concept settings and feed the calendar between shoots. Manufacturers do the same with product and process. AI keeps the cadence going; real footage keeps the trust.
